KULHAD

Morning Tea  “Chai” and few desserts are served in kulhad .Its common in India as its a part of daily routine .

Earlier it was used only on Indian railway stations platforms now it’s also being used in restaurant  to give Indian touch to it .

One of the most popularly used crockery across the country is a kulhad or kulhar.

For time immemorial, it has been an Indian cultural tradition. Indians have an affair with tea in the evenings too. Sips of tea are like breaths of energy and freshness for menfolk after their return from work in the evening. They hit the couch with cups of tea and shed weariness by drinking this hot beverage.  Since its a part of morning ritual lots of  tea leafs - Chai Patti are being wasted as they are being filtered out through the strainer and are disposed off. Thought to up cycle those waste teas leafs into a product .Later realized that clay cups and tea culture goes hand in hand in India as tea is served in in clay cups which are sustainable and doesn’t harm the environment and artisans in India can earn by making it .

Planning on re-creating the same look but will be using coffee filter instead of Chai patti  due to difference in cities and places .
